Beaming/Winding a Warp using a Simple Portable Trapeze
Teacher: Sue Willingham
When: Feb 18th, Wednesday, 1pm-3pm (Come for just the morning or afternoon or both - note morning workshop at same date, same location)
Where: In person, on Vashon Island. Address provided before the event and see note below about carpools from the ferry terminal.
Come join Sue as she warps looms for her upcoming Towelpalooza workshop in March with her daughter Janet Dawson. She’ll demonstrate how to single-handedly beam (wind the warp) with a trapeze to help ensure good tension while you weave.
Especially for long warps, using a portable trapeze helps keep even tension on the warp while beaming it. Plus, you can warp single-handedly and keep tension on your warp chains while advancing the back beam. A trapeze can be made cheaply, be moved from one loom to another and easily broken down to store in the closet or corner.
NOTE: Coffee and hot water provided, refrigerator in studio if you want to bring your own lunch.
